Illusionary as my own thoughts are to myself, it's not necessarily a sense of laziness that helped my conscience overcome my typical avoidance of using the all or nothing type words in this particular introduction.
I prefer writing with words that permit room for the perpetually fluctuating total tally counts to perhaps endure some of the more wild and even hysterical shifts so that once the fashion of the season is determined and the DJ's set list is approved for the year, absent of a cataclysmic event I obviously wouldn't be around for the after-effects, the search for forms of regularity and reliability is older than any explanation recorded throughout history displaying such a desire.
Therefore, with all predictable and unpredictable exceptions aside, it does not escape me that everyone's sense of reality being rocked and rolled at sometimes astounding rates and ratios is certainly a driving force behind some of the transpiring activities being transcribed at not so outstanding rates and ratios (ummm...let's see...where's oh where did the paper-based news go, oh where oh where did it go...).
To choose to seek out an understanding of the human mind seems to be part and parcel of the Total Human Experience, which includes acknowledgement and honoring of a variety of self-evident truths, including this statement being a self-evident truth. Call it gravity or call it shit, the force that keeps my own feet to the ground will not go on strike or walk out the door if I anger it by using a term typically associated with excrement.
So whether the products and/or services engineered by Neuro-Science can win even a greater portion of the world marketplace seems to depend on whether or not they can sustain at least a marginal footprint in the popular culture.
With so much steam puffing about an E-Meter built exclusively for one purchaser, polygraph machines having Imminent Failure Pressure Points (i.e. the machines rely on stress singals to send the needles fluttering across over-sized ticket tape), military members being reported as both success stories and tales of caution as a result of their at least temporary adherence to the contract they signed which included a set of non-negotiable instructions, weaponizing their humanity in exchange for the opportunity to prevent even but one lone soul from devastating another human being on such a complex scale...lists can always grow, but human's cannot regrow a variety of body parts once a certain threshold is reached...the pictures being produced by this particular industry are in a pretty serious position of far more than simple suggestions suggest.
From the hero to the criminal and every other identifier attached to explain something we believe we witnessed, it is those who pursue the removal of the orator that eliminates all barriers and boundaries when it comes to an imagination believing it has discovered a better, faster and smarter mouse trap or lightening rod. Without a tone to the lexicon being deployed by the communicator, a receiver is reliant upon supplanting some form of tonality to shape their interpretation of what has been presented to them as a "communication." Add to this the possibility that many, if not most, people hear their voices differently when listening from within relative to listening to their voice being bounced back at them using some piece of machinery.
With television shows and movies abundantly covering ideas relating our biological brains to some piece of machinery somehow posing such a great threat, that without vehement removal of such threat, what of the private sector that frequents the stores that sell machinery designed to read another piece of machinery somehow embedded beneath the human skin, such as some nightclubs have been reported as having in action? What of the pile of RFID chips that can fit on a few swirls and whorls of a fingertip? Are they meant to be inhaled? What are the side effects? What environmental impact will they have? And of course, the non-standard summary question are they safe?
Welcome to a Temporary Illusion Objective. It all depends on what the seeker is looking for as to whether or not the question marks in their minds lose their hooks on top and are somehow converted into a period format. For example, the question "What's your risk tolerance" is an in-depth battery of exploratory examinations frequently performed by those holding job titles in the financial sector, but not always.
Now whether or not the word "God" reflects an attachment to all-encompasing force governing over the fates of existence itself or the antithesis of any other possible explanation for the largeness and smallness we can see, what if the word was supplanted with some short form of the theories surrounding the possession of a conscience of some visible form.
As a fiddler of facts mixed with fiction, the phrases "And so I say unto my own conscience" and "And so I say unto God" seem able to co-exist, but what does such phrasing do to a polygraph test? Would your questions be something along the lines "do you believe in God" or would they perhaps be exploratory of your sexual preferences, such as "do you like sex"? From where I sit as a piddly little guppy gulping for capacity to comprehend, my first question would tend to head in the direction of "What are you going to do to me once I answer?"
Examiners of the human mind are forced to associate some form of morality measure upon why their data must absolutely be read a certain way and that ya-da-da-da-da whatever comes next, the cost of doing business justification can sometimes be an (un)intentional cover up of a casualty of doing business a certain way. For example, mental health service providers are citing piles of unpaid bills from all sides, primarily pointing a finger at the uninsured patent being the collection of numbers to look at. However, for every individual unable to access some form of a venting system staffed with those ready, willing and able to address the unique individuals fated to carry with them whatever
For example, there are many I have met in real life who have skipped over my longer compositions such as this one, frequently citing an inability to connect with what I was trying to say and that there was no time to decipher it. Without a statement from me laying claim to my continued development of my online content to reflect a very personal and not always accessible notebook (I stopped counting lost account information long ago...) for my purpose...yes, my purpose...which means if someone else walks away scratching their heads believing they just wasted a chunk of their time, I don't believe the 30 or 40 minutes it took me to spill this out using a keyboard and a dash of electricity was a waste of my time. After all, I'm the one who is seeking some form of relief at some point in this self-publishing process, and I would never mention the 300 moments or so that went into this final internalized determination that what my fingers just did is worth my taking the risk of clicking "Publish Post."
So what does all of this have to do with a Temporary Illusion Objective? I believed I had the need to compose, objectified the urge by relating the computer as a source of potential relief and then proceeded to rely on my own internal records to create this one single post. I haven't typically crafted with a large group of people in mind. I usually start with a singular event, such as a monkey suddenly deciding to wash its food in a local water supply and then contemplate what past events, if any, could have possibly motivated the monkey to break away from the pack already busy sharing habits absent of food cleansing, let alone the potential for resistance to the habitual add-on to already well-established habits, let alone a form of total embrace of the action.
Do/Will critics of the neurosciences have right and reason to fear even greater forced application of the science to not only evaluate the value of such exploration as a part of another Temporary Illusions called The Greater Good, but so that these reports can be reported as reflecting yet another set of codes under the mental health sciences that demands further scrutiny and possible immediate interference clearly not in the best interest of the individual under Assault via Forward-Looking Assumptions the readers felt warranted such an otherwise emotional response?
Now I haven't bothered the search engines to go find a credible or virus-free copy of the Temporal Illusion video, and in all fairness, I really don't turn on my Internet connection very frequently anymore, so I'm even more stingy as to whether or not I'm logging on as a reader or as a contributor, but it would seem to me that the possibility of traveling to The Past can be achieved through a series of internalized recall processes and procedures (damned if I know the actual steps...I dropped out of the college circuit a long time ago and didn't even acquire a BS) and environment always plays the most unknown of roles in such an effort.
In fact, with only the most surface of understanding of the current interpretation of the theory, I guess my own efforts to reconnect with The Past would be through my own ability to achieve some sense of disconnection from the everyday calendar and clock. We could quibble as to whether or not I am even obligated to follow any known clock or calendar known to man, let alone crazy for suggesting there could possibly be more than just one acceptable time keeping mechanism, but it is when I begin to strip elements from where I am at any given moment that poses the greatest reflection of the heart of an artist I believe sometimes governs the rest of me.
For example, the act of closing one's eyes shuts down a high dosage of data to process (which is but one of many reasons why I am such an amateur musician...I enjoy looking down at my instrument and care not of the crutch it represents from a presentation perspective...it's a tough sell and I don't have much else going for me), but having darkness fall in some capacity holds the same effect.
This example is not by any means the only way to suppress absorption of environmental stimulation, but another example needed no eye closing and instead became a temporary moment of sanity when I learned of a building being torn down by planned removal. I did not need to see a building in front of my eyes to experience a flood of visions that fit over what everyone else was able to see, nor did my eyes need to be closed to disconnect from awareness of current time assignment. I knew the date of the day I visited as it was prescribed to me through a variety of mediums and outlets and yet I'll still swear today that I recall it to have felt as if no time had passed since the last and final time I stepped outside of the street address boundaries, let alone the preceding months in which I was instructed to consider the building my home until I scored enough points or the insurance ran out, whichever happened first (the insurance ran out, by the way. Go figure!)
With demands from society for all people to have paper promises that should something go wrong in the health category, this promise promises to cover some measure of the costs, the value of our nation's currency on the FOREX market is but one of many examples of how any set of numbers can be made to dance a certain way...if certain conditions exist, of course...so that economic theories continue to prevail enough to sway the fear factors associated with everyone needing to be fearful of having no access to this "miracle" or even mystical skill-set dealing with the healing of the biology unless you come pre-approved for viewing.
The treatment of the wounded on a battlefield does not unfold based on the reading of a variety of balance sheets before even checking on one patient. The only list on a battlefield is the one containing information about what resources are available to address what ails the wounded and the medics each make immediate calls as to who gets what and when. So when the desire to learn from any loss of life instinctively leading the examination process, what governs the lessons, let alone what is given credit as the "teacher?"
So when ambulances are diverted to other locations due to either specialty medical services providers only or insurance-demanded, (gotta love the Primary Care concept, practical application of process sucks, payments pixie stick managed more by facility than by need), even those who seek to be pro-active with their health - buying products, checking in with medical professionals on a regularly scheduled program, etc. still are faced with the reality that even our health status at any given moment is but a temporary illusion we choose to either accept or reject as The Truth, The Whole Truth and Nothing But the Truth. In fact, I wasn't planning on having an ache or two today, but through my other choices, it happened.
It is the acceptance of illusions that I still believe aids significantly in keeping measures of civility something more than just a hopeless hope needed for marketing purposes. For example, even though something is written in fiction, that does not mean that the story is devoid and empty of generating some flame inside. Culturally convenient as a variety of battles fought over the influence of music on society, it isn't just music or the movies or even the books that pose the greatest potential for a slightly calmer collective temperament through soothing those who carry real wounds (visible or not is irrelevant) with more than just mountains upon mountains of paper and digital promises of something that appears appealing...
So did I climb into my past in order to compose this entry? Sure. It's been longer than the original 30 or 40 minutes I had spent earlier in the composition, so I certainly let go of time as it is construed in a timeline format, but I assure you there were no flashing lights or other effects typically found in the entertainment sector to symbolize some sort of shift on the timeline. I simply allowed and even encouraged my thoughts to go randomly roaming for a while to see what I could find...places that no machine could ever think of going...because there has to be a list created for a machine to operate, of course. And even with 24/7 monitoring while attached to every single machine ever invented by man, the list of actions and activities that I have experienced in real life carry so many intimate little details...
Such as knowing you might actually believe the data and time stamp on this entry.
And yet I assure you that with the Blogger brand, such an assumption is a dangerous illusion to readily accept. Nothing super-secret or anything like that, but there really is a strong 50/50 chance the stamp may not reflect the time of publication. Blogger just has a very narrow post entry sort and the fastest way to shift the order of the pages is through altering the date/time stamp of each entry, which isn't that fast to do (I hate to click when I don't have to).
A computer program on Blogger's side might be able to detect such alterations, but what is a human supposed to turn to? Automatically think ill-will against the alteration of a date/time stamp no matter what, or in this case, recognizing perhaps a moment of civil protest amongst the members of the Blogger community who wish to stay with the Blogger brand, and if only there is a feature permitting a teeny bit more credibility towards the date/time stamp field, the Google Help Forum would have such frequent refreshes of questions relating to how someone can better index their posts for their readers.
Illusions101 is an online identity I used for a while for those moments when my need to click Publish after clicking away at the alphabet for a while overwhelms any other conclusion other than, "Okay. Finished. Now put it up so you can shut up and go back to living in the real world."
So here's my ending to the intro to this new blog, Temporary Illusions.
I have no idea what it will become, but it is what it is when it became more than just an idea.
In the meantime, here's a piece of brand new prose as the close.
